Stephen Gahagans

Speaker Stephen GahagansStephen Gahagans is currently the Chief / Director of the University of Arkansas Police Department. He is an instructor for the Supervisor Development Program for the University of Arkansas focusing on Violence in the Workplace. He previously was employed at Oklahoma State University at both the Stillwater and Tulsa Campuses. He served for many years as a Law Enforcement Trainer and Training Coordinator. He has conducted presentations in the areas of workplace violence, sexual assault prevention, crime prevention, rape aggression defense, and self-defense. He served as an adjunct professor of Crime Prevention and Self Defense at Oklahoma State University. He is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy and Bowmac Incident Command School.

This dynamic presentation consist of a candid (straight forward) approach in discussing violence in the workplace to include dangers of underestimating the violent criminal mind, workplace violence case studies, keen awareness of clues of potential violence (warning signs), and strategies to combat violence in the workplace. In addition, there will be a live demonstration of active and passive defense.
